Kriya Yoga

Kriya Yoga is an ancient method for attaining spiritual realization.

It is based on the techniques of Pranayama which control and direct the subtle internal Pranas towards the Sushumna Nadi (the central channel of the Pranic body). These techniques have been practiced by seekers of self-knowledge since ancient times and they are now back in use thanks to the more recent teachings of Lahiri Mahasaya.

Kriya Yoga is a sacred tradition which has been carefully preserved by recognised Yogis, handed down orally from generation to generation, from the living Guru to his disciple.

Each disciple follows their own path toward self-realisation with resolution and vigour, through the practice of Kriya Yoga and above all, through the care and understanding of their Guru.

Sri Yogi Prakash Shankar Vyas, better known to his students and disciples as Guruji, is an internationally recognized Kriya Yogi and spiritual master from Varanasi, India, who was initiated and authorised to pass on the science of Kriya Yoga by Yogiraj Sri Satya Charan Lahiri (the grandson of Mahayogi Lahiri Mahasaya).

He is a ‘Householder Yogi’ with a family, and does not run an organization or ashram.

Guruji went to live in Australia in December 2007 and now teaches at the Kashi Kriya Yoga Centre in Gisborne, Victoria.
